What an explosive conclusion! Now this is a duet you don't want to miss!
This picks up right where the first book ended. And it was definitely Clare's time to shine!
Clare's body and mind may have been beaten down but not her spirit. Her path to her HEA was not an easy one but you just knew she's gonna get there. With the right people to support her, the right man to love her, Clare found the tools to help with her healing and rediscover the feistiness within her.
The man to love Clare cannot be anymore perfect. Where Roman is perfect for Elisabeth, so was the man to love Clare for Clare. He's witty, caring, protective, loving and all kinds of swoon-y things.
With Roman and Lis, and all the good funny people surrounding Clare and her man, they claimed the life that they deserve.
The pace of the story moved fast, just because I was so engrossed in the story. It has the right mix of heat, tender moments, suspense and action. There was just the right amount of grit to it. I'd say the perfect balance.
As a huge Aly fan, I may be biased and all, but obviously, there's a reason why I'm a fan. Aly, to date, has consistently given me stories that engage me, characters that I fall in love with, and story lines with varying themes. I've said it before, I'll say it again, Aly releases a book, I don't walk, I run towards it.
